Danish learning on the public role in regional innovation
The public sector in Denmark both at the local, regional and governmental level is very active in supporting the regional innovation and development. Ten years ago a structural reform lead to the establishment of five regions and 98 municipalities with a stronger commitment for more collaboration. The presentation will share the key learning on how to organisere the collaboration in the best manner especially within areas like regional development, collaboration with knowledge institutions and cluster development. What kind of strategy can support the public/private collaboration in the best manner? What are the key mechanisms to make this happen? What are the implications for roles and tasks for public employees? And is there a limit for the collaboration?
