Cologne Institute for Economic Research
Kristina Stoewe, M. A., is a researcher at the Cologne Institute for Economic Research (IW) in the field of Vocational Education and Training. IW is a private economic research institute in Germany, which is an advocate of a liberal economic and social order. The Institute works to improve understanding of how business and society function and interact and by doing so contribute to sustainable growth and long-term prosperity. Kristina Stoewe is working in the project BQ portal, the information portal for foreign professional qualifications. The portal is realized on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and offers a work and knowledge sharing platform, on which all competent bodies responsible for the recognition process cooperate. Thus, it facilitates the recognition of foreign professional qualifications. In 2015, the project was awarded with the European Public Sector Award (EPSA) and was recognized as the best and most innovative performer in public administration by the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA).
During her session, Kristina Stoewe will give an insight in the BQ portal, which is a learning system that uses a bottom up approach and is based on collaborative knowledge creation.
