Jarmo Eskelinen is the Chief Innovation & Technology Officer of the Future Cities Catapult. Jarmo Eskelinen is an expert in smart cities, user driven design and open data. Previously he was the CEO of Forum Virium Helsinki urban innovation lab of the City of Helsinki, leading the company for ten years, and the executive director of the Media Centre Lume in the Aalto University, Helsinki.
Jarmo Eskelinen is the vice-chair of the fast growing international Open & Agile Smart Cities network - cities devoted to building a harmonised smart city solutions market through open linked data, open APIs and experimentation culture. He is also a council member and former president of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL).
The session is about making the smart cities market: open urban platforms and loose compatibility build the fast track to the critical mass.
