Frank Eetgerink started ‘Blue River Concepts’ to work as independent consultant and concept developer in the field of regional economic development and competitiveness. Frank advises on building regional (smart specialization) strategies for development, facilitating clustering and growing innovation ecosystems.
In 17 years of experience at Development Agency Oost NV in the Netherlands, he has covered different domains, ranging from ICT, Sustainable Energy to Agri & Food, specializing on strategy, regional branding and processes of collaboration. Currently he is promoting Metropolitan Food Clusters as a new approach to sustainable and competitive food production.
As a member of the TCI Network since 2009, Frank presently co-organizes the upcoming TCI 2016 Global Conference "Global Challenges" in the Brainport Region Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
Frank participates in projects exploring future developments and trends, interpreting weak signals on their relevance for regions and cities. He is member of the Dutch Future Society.
In the early days of Internet he co-founded the <GX> Group, a university spin of, building Web and Software Services, presently known as <GX> Software.
Previously Frank managed a trainings institute for starting entrepreneurs.
Frank has a an academic background in Anthropology, specialized on modern Japan, and additional training in general management and change management.
